Meet the Team: Hayden Bassett, Business Development Executive

Say hello to the newest member of our team, Hayden! Over the past 15 years, Hayden has worked in the fast-paced world of Communication & Technology sales, from long-distance selling to managing retail stores. He’s a true go-getter who seizes every opportunity that comes his way, having dived into various roles, including customer service, repairs, web chat support, billing, telemarketing and customer retention.

On top of that, he has also dedicated his time to observing and mentoring teams, helping them develop the best practices for success. Hayden possesses an excellent understanding of the latest trends and a keen commercial awareness that truly sets him apart. Let’s see how Hayden is settling into his new role as Business Development Executive.

1) Best thing about HOM?

The people. The transition to this new role has been easy, stress-free and enjoyable.

2) Distracted by? 

My two kids and this gorgeous sunshine. 

3) Excited by? 

The next big thing. I love the part when something new comes out, and everyone is in the same boat, trying to figure out how it works. 

4) Best thing about your job?

The best thing about my job is that I get to talk to people even though I’m sitting behind a computer. I never thought I would be comfortable speaking to new clients when customers have been coming to me most of my life. Reaching out and exploring new ways to engage with businesses really gets the mind working. 

5) Favourite work snack? 

My mother got me hooked on these Japanese nuts. They’re expensive but worth it.

6) I predict that…???

Artificial Intelligence is making its rounds. AI has been around for a long time but is only now gaining recognition for its potential. This technology has a long way to go, and there will be a lot of trial and error. Once working, however, it will substantially impact how businesses operate and communicate with their customers.
