Facebook Launches Own Version of Snapchat Lenses
Facebook has started rolling out its version of Snapchat lenses, called Masks.
The social network has started to add the feature to its live-streaming service and will soon be available within Facebook’s app, as well as the Mentions app to verified users.
The feature allows users to add animated filters to live videos posted to Facebook, with filters being similar to those used in MSQRD – the face-tracking and 3D face placement app acquired by the social networking site back in March.
Masks has started to roll out to on iOS to users in the US, UK and New Zealand, and is said to come to Android “in the coming months,” as well as to additional countries.
