Penguin 4.0 rollout now complete!
You may have heard us banging on about the new Penguin update, and, well, we’re at it again. This time though, we’re bringing tidings of joy – the Penguin 4.0 has been rolled out fully to all of Google’s data centres.
Google’s Gary Illyes confirmed this via Twitter:
With this in mind, any sites previously impacted by a Penguin penalty will have seen some sort of recovery if action had been taken to clean up links. This includes those affected from Penguin 1.0 in April 2012 to October of 2014.
Google recently confirmed that Penguin looks at your source link and is now running in real-time, so if you haven’t yet cleaned up your inbound links, you won’t have to wait two years until the penalty is lifted this time!
